TEACHING AT THE "UPPER ROOM" & JON ARRIVES!

Harriet teaches on life lessons with Habakkuk - great lesson for the men and women who came out on a holiday weekend! It is Moon Festival and yet we had a total of 25 today at a training with Jon and I in the morning on marriage and Harriet in the afternoon.  We taught at the "Upper Room" restaurant; it is the 3rd of these Christian "Bistros" in Beijing featuring food, worship and Christian fellowship.  We bought "Moon Cakes" in honor of the holiday in a special tin with Bible stories on the front!!

I had a feeling these 2 would connect!  Yolanda with Harriet today - loving the sisterhood and kindred spirits all in one!  Yolanda is starting a new training business with the purpose of training and then sharing the Best News!  www.seekfind.com.cn

ALSO:  Yolanda just shared that in the past 2 weeks the Mr. Ling (owner of the furniture company where our team was involved in helping to plant a church) has just led his sister and 10 others to Jesus!  Because of the objections of Mr. Ling's wife, the church is not meeting now though so please pray for an open door for them, a change of heart for Mrs. Ling and a pastor!

This is Wang Lei, winner of the KnitWit's shawl today and also the boss of our translator, "Cookie" (Angela).  Wang Lei also cam last Saturday and is seeking. Pray for her please.

The winners of the hats today!  They are so excited that Sharon Tom (creator of the hats) will also pray for them.  So many questions today and I had a special time with Xiao Yan, who is leading the "Sister Group" I helped Sabina start 2 years ago and has been having a fear of leadership.  It was a sweet time and she is encouraged!
My hubby arrived yesterday afternoon!  The goal upon arrival is to stay up until at least 8:30pm (there is a 14 hour time difference and we try to get our days and nights straight).  So, after dinner with Harriet and while Harriet did a wonderful job teaching with Fangfang, Jon and I went to Walmart, Beijing style!  Duck anyone???

Nothing like a ride down the conveyor belt with your buggy, shopping along the way!  Jon is a trouper and did a wonderful job with our teaching on marriage today, jet lag and all!

We had a very nice dinner in Lido tonight (Sept. 10 - the Walmart trip was upon Jon's arrival on the 9th) with Jim and Judy Burrows.
Up until 15 years ago, Lido was where the "foreigners" were confined while residing in Beijing.  Now, there aren't those restrictions but still lots of "home style" food available!
